As a part of the on-going partnership with British publication Jocks&Nerds, and American watchmakers, Shinola, the Community of Craft series sees a brand new pop-up with Bicycle Bell maker, Jess Fügler. Shinola's London store plays host to another temporary workspace - previously occupied by Apron maker, Nigel Ruwende, of Saint & Birchley, Peter Bellerby of Bellerby&Co Globemakers, and Thidaa of Blue Guy Pottery.
The Floridian-born maker completed her Masters at Royal College of Art, London, in Product Design, and while researching for a project she stumbled across the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. Fügler's new love for bells led to her creating the Bells of London project: with each bell in the collection having its only unique acoustic sound, representing its own London borough.
The Community of Craft series is a great chance to see the inner working
of how a designer goes about producing a product of passion, and in
this case it's Fügler's love of an old English craft. Visit the store between Friday 26th - Sunday 27th September to see the Bells of London project in full swing.
