Flying Horse Denim, Newburgh Street, London
We're always searching for interesting retail spaces to take our camera into. In the centre of London's Soho sits Newburgh Street, a pedestrianised road which currently lists some of the coolest brands around as its residence. Shinola, Red Wing, LVC, Evisu, Onitsuka Tiger and Filson are all there, and just around the corner you'll find Cubitts, Oi Polloi, Billionaire Boys Club + Barbour. It's a great area, and we see it as the perfect cut-through / distraction every time we visit Soho.
We'd heard of Flying Horse Indigo Goods before our visit, but last month was the first time we ventured into their store. Their a brand whose passion starts with indigo, and anything connected to it; be that its history, the dyeing process, the people that use it, its own uses or its relevance across our culture today. The store reflects that passion, through natural furnishing, trinkets which have been collected from the staff's travels and even the naturally-sweet smell of indigo dye. All the brand's design work is done in-house too, which can be found in the store's studio basement.
In store they currently have a selection of selvedge raw + distressed denim, the brand's hemp line, over-dyed t-shirts, soft cotton shirts and chinos.

Looks like an awesome shop and although it’s probably not the type of thing you’d visit every day, it’s stylish and a boutique that’s worth a visit x

It's such great process.
ReplyDeleteMe too, that's what I love. Don't think I've seen much like it.
ReplyDeleteLove me some denim! Any denim stores near you?
ReplyDeleteGlad you think so, Shannan.
ReplyDeleteIt was quite a small store, just right for this sort of brand.
ReplyDeleteNot everyday no, every so often is all that's needed. It's a nice little spot in the centre of a really busy area.
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like an amazing denim store! The Indigo process is so amazing to see too. Can you get a look at their studio?

That's a good question...I'm not quite sure...I'm generally an online denim shopper. :)
