A little bit of Lamp Appreciation by Katie Rea, nice to see her uploading illustrations again. Nice to have the lights back on.
I really need to get my head down and crack on with work this weekend; not that I've got behind but there's so much I want to do, freelance and personal. Lots of ideas for blog posts whizzing around in my head at the moment. Your feedback has been so positive lately, so we'll just keep doing what we're doing! I'm also starting indoor rock climbing this weekend, that will give me even more to focus on...Anything new with you?

Love the simplicity in her Art and the colours are pretty cheery! Indoor rock climbing sounds really fun. A couple of my friends do bouldering which is similar right?

ReplyDeleteRock climbing is so fun but SUCH hard work! Katie Rea's work is lovely, I have never seen it before so will have to go and check it out :)

Hmm rock climbing. Energetic?!! I've been cycling every where. On the plus side my wheels are getting fixed right now and I'm trying to kid myself that I will still get my bike out as much..
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to reply properly yesterday but it's incredibly kind of you to feature my illustration and I love the sentence to go along with it! Very fitting! Thank you a million dude!
ReplyDeleteLet me know how indoor rock climbing is, it's something I wouldn't mind having a go at myself as it actually seems like a fun way to keep fit! By the way I can't remember if you had paid a visit to Takk in Manchester? I went yesterday and it's a nice little joint with lovely staff. Will check out those links, the working from home in the winter post seems interesting!
Really cool set of illustrations - so simple but so effective nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteIt must be a lovely feeling, to have so many ideas! Those are the times where I feel most inspired and excited - even if it's really tough to settle on one thing and actually get it all done haha! Best of luck with indoor rock climbing - ever since my friend took me rock climbing a little bit ago, that's one of the things buzzing around my head lately too!
I love how minimal but equally lovely the illustrations are. Beauty in simplicity.

ReplyDeleteit sure it, but like you said it's sometimes hard to actually focus and get them done! So much buzzing about. it went well, i'm going back for another go today!
ReplyDeleteThese are some seriously cool illustrations. I remember following her old blog and her style has changed completely, in a good way of course.
ReplyDeleteI read that article about working from home in the winter. It is brilliant! So glad to have read it. I have struggled a bit working in the cold! I've switched on the radiators more recently and feel a lot better.

yeah it has hasn't it. she started work at a graphic design company, so i guess her style has been influenced by that side of the creative. cool to see actually. it's tough in the winter, but glad it's working for you.
ReplyDeletethe rock climbing (well it's bouldering technically) is going really well, loads of fun but so so hard. I love Takk, was in there last week! It's my fav coffee shop in Manchester by far actually. So relaxed. We need to hook up.
ReplyDeleteyeah I guess it it! Cycling is my fav though too.
