Wearing - The North Face Jacket c/o JD | ASOS Hat
More jackets folks. But can you blame us, it's soaking about 90% of the time here. I'll be putting this "all-weather" Venture Jacket by The North Face through its paces over the next month - as the temperatures have dipped it's definitely too cold as a main jacket so I'll need to layer up good and proper. We'll see how it fares in the rain – it's got a lot to live up to if my Marmot jacket is anything to go by. Which brands do you recommend?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends, take it easy.

Great looking jacket, Mat. I'm looking to buy a new rain coat/jacket for cycling. Let me know if you find anything that fits the bill and is worth checking into.
ReplyDeleteI really love down jackets, but I am so paranoid about wearing mine when it could potentially rain as I don't want to ruin it. It's hard to find a jacket that's good in both cold and wet weather. Looking forward to seeing what you have to say about that North Face one.

There is definitely a chill in the air now, I always find that as soon as it's Bonfire night, that's it and it's time to pile on the layers. The North Face jacket looks like it will withstand the elements!

The idea of not accepting comments is really interesting, and I've played around with it for a bit in my head. I think what sticks to me to most, is the fact that a lot of comments aren't honest or authentic. Sometimes it's painfully obvious that the person doesn't read the content of my posts and they're just there to spread a link.
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting debate, there's no denying it. It's hard, I don't think I could ever do it as it's one of my favourite sides of blogging - the interaction. But it's disappointing when it's just for a quick link, though I think Im over that. If I can keep in touch with the blogs and bloggers I enjoy (yourself included) then I think that wins over no comments, for me.
ReplyDeleteI worry that it's a bit too thin for the real cold but should be fun on my bike, nice and bright!
ReplyDeleteI have just bought a down jacket by Penfield actually, and it's water repellent, so they do exist. Look into it mate!
ReplyDeleteThat's the same as me. I think it's slightly too short on my frame if I'm honest, I'm about 6 foot but it's above my jumper line. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteWill do! Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteNorth Face is so reliable - I have the same jacket in black ;)

Oh really? I'm finding it a little short for me.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I do think that the genuine conversations I get out of it do outweigh the other negative aspects of commenting. Hm, I should probably take things less personally and see the humor behind the "I love London!" comments on posts clearly titled "Germany", hahaha.
ReplyDeleteIs North Face as popular in your area as it is in the Silicon Valley? It's all that people wear here!
