Studio Hay have been burning with ideas recently and my latest like is their awesome Strike Matches. A simple idea that preserves the cardboard box tradition but meets it with a modern take on presentation through colour and varying dimensions.
The matches are a collaborative design by American product designer Shane Schneck and Swedish graphic designer Clara von Zweigbergk. I do like it when designers from different disciplines and cultures come together to either create something new or like in this case, re-interpret an everyday object and these are super snazzy in my book! - Yasumi.

I agree that it's wonderful when different artists collaborate. It's inspiring to see how infinitely creative people can be! These matchboxes are pretty too. I think I wouldn't be able to bring myself to use them if they were in my pocket, haha.

ReplyDeleteThese are definitely super snazzy, and I wouldn't be able to bring myself to use them either, haha. That's the problem when things are too nice!
