Back App Chair - Nordic Design Solutions

Working in an office or behind a desk every day takes its toll on your posture and effectively, puts unnecessary strain and discomfort onto your back. Most of us will experience back pain in some shape or form throughout of lives, and as we're sitting down for an average of 13.7 hours a day, there's no wonder why it affects so many people across a broad range of professions. This goes for the freelancers like me too, who haven't even got a desk!

Freddy Johnsen, a Fish-Farming consultant from Norway, was one of these people and decided to take matters into his own hands by design an office chair which would tackle the issue of directly. His vision was to create a chair which would replicate the same posture position as if you were standing upright, but by putting no unnatural strains and pressure on your back. The Back App Chair is a result of his innovative way of problem solving.

Using a patented balancing ball design, these nifty looking chairs not only combat the inevitable slouchy sitting position we tend to adopted, they also train your back by strengthen the core muscles. With a design-nod to the classic Eames Hang-It-All, the Back App Chair not only looks attractive but it also works with you - throughout the day, giving you a subtle constant moving motion. Users keep their balance in the same way as when walking, riding a bike or jogging. This adds an extra element of exercise to your day, without using any extra effort - which can benefit other areas of fitness like yoga, weight-training or tennis.
