The Margaret Howell store on Wigmore Street has been on my "things to-do in London" list for a while. Tucked away just off Oxford Circus, you'll find Wigmore Street, a street which I previous knew hardly anything about but it turns out has loads going on.

En route I stopped off at Workshop Coffee Co., to meet up with an old friend of mine, Suzy. She proceeded to tell me she actually works for Margaret Howell, so two Flat Whites later we headed a few doors down to the store. With its high ceilings and spacious floor, the store doubles up as exhibition / show space. The evening before I visited was the launch of the latest Ercol furniture collection, which can be seen in the images about. In the store you will find both mens and womenswear, accessories, furniture, homeware goods and magazines/books.

I briefly looked at the clothing but it's quite frustrating to check out things your can't afford, I found it easier to browse from afar. I really appreciate their approach to design and feel the brand should be celebrated in a similar way to how Paul Smith is. In terms of design, vision and global reach, the brand Margaret Howell has built is something to be admired and the relaxed pace and minimal approach of the store is a far cry away from the chaos, otherwise known as Oxford Street.

You can find Margaret Howell at 34 Wigmore Street, London, W1U 2RS
