This season's Levi's Vintage Clothing collection has just dropped at Birmingham based menswear retailer atoo, and the chaps have very kindly shot some exclusive images just for Buckets & Spades. Each season Levi's delve into their extensive archive, picking out key pieces and re-produce them with pinpoint accuracy. Levi's pay extremely close attention to the smallest detail - Sourcing correct materials for the labeling, sticking to the fits as they were originally intended and replicating construction techniques.
The collection, named "Treasure Island", features LVC's 1960 606 + 1947 501, the 1939 Gayway Souvenir Shirt (produced for the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition), a Classic Sweatshirt, Short Sleeve Stripe Shirt and the soon-to-be-released suede jacket. I saw all the pieces at Jacket Required last summer and the attention to detail of the collection is this second-to-none.
The shoot took place at Parlour Hair barbershop, just down the road from the atoo's store; modeling the collection is Salon Owner, Phil.
That vintage style sweatshirt is quite nice. I like the greyish blue color.

This is gorgeous Mat. What an awesome exclusive for you to run on your site. These shots are incredible. I especially love the last one. The way Phil is wearing that little scarf around his neck is so cool.

These are such gorgeous vintage pieces - I think I was reading an article about people who live their entire lives as though they're in the 50s (I think it was the DM - don't judge me too much! I find it hilarious to read), their attention to detail was incredible, and exactly how this felt.
ReplyDeleteI love their vintage ad campaign: have you ever had a bad time in Levis?

Really like the set up of these shots, just looks properly cool, too cool! It's refreshing knowing that a company takes lots of enough ensuring they go the extra mile for their clothes, and I'm sure I've walked past that salon before...
ReplyDeleteOn the diary I think it's a good investment! I've seen a few others to do with happiness, I'm sure one is called the happiness project, or along those lines! Hollie is deffo on the right tracks diary wise there too!
