The Anatomy Of A Rolex

Expensive watches aren't generally my thing. I'm not that guy that sees a watch as status symbol and couldn't tell you the difference between most brands but since seeing this video showcasing The Anatomy of a Rolex, I definitely have a new found appreciation for the subject.

This beautifully shot video has been produced by The Watch Gallery, who worked closely with their in-house watchmaker at their  Rolex Boutique. The result is a super detailed look at what makes their watches tick. The video documents in detail, how each part of the main body works, showing the integral parts for what they are and how they fit together, to create the perfect timepiece.

If this isn't your usually schtick then I suggest you to give it ago, it might just change you mind.

  1. Status symbol watches do little for me either. However, a well made timepiece with Swiss workings does make me smile. I like Bell & Ross watches, Glycine makes good ones too. Hardly status symbols but those who care about design, quality, durability etc. Watches that keep good time and can take some abuse :) I need to win the lottery but if I ever do buy a watch and stop relying on my phone, I only want to buy one in my lifetime.

  6. Right there with you, never been big on expensive watches (I still have my Swatch's from the 80's, lol) but this video is changing my perspective. You've got to give props to the craftsmanship.
