A few weeks have passed since I was down in London for menswear trade show Jacket Required for their SS14 showing. My Jacket Required Part 1 round-up featured both familiar brands and lots of new ones, which I will be keeping a close eye on in the coming seasons. If you caught Part 1 there was also tons of florals, bright colours and patterns; Part 2 continues in a similar theme.
It was great to finally meet the boys behind London based label, Collective Noun. Specialising in outerwear (first image), they had some lovely coated chore jackets and macs, perfect for the Blighty's predictability unpredictable weather. Esemplare win the prize for the most bonkers use of polka-dots and florals on techy down jackets, genius. Surfwear offerings by both Quiksilver and Pendleton were both very much my bag, Pendleton have reintroduced this range which was first around in the 50s. Hentsch Man's Steve Shirt (featured here) gets reworked with new prints, and finally Shades of Grey's mixture of hawaiian, floral and checks was a collection I could see myself donning down the local boozer.
This was my first time at a menswear-only trades and I'm glad I decided to take trip down. It was an good experience and a great chance to catch up with some of my buddies in the industry.

Seems like a such a great time. Endless amount of good looking products. Nice looking jacket there. I'd like to acquire it in red or yellow. Very fisherman.
ReplyDeleteSeems like floral prints are still booming and honestly seem to be getting better and better. Still manly with a slight feminine touch. The best looking kind I think.
All the sneakers are looking awesome. What is the brand in the second picture?
Bet you were loving the red wing booth. More tempted to get a pair now?
Hope you have a great week Mat!
Beautiful, all of it! The blouse in the 7th shot - do they have that with long sleeves?
ReplyDeleteFunky board shorts in picture 10. Makes me want to go on holiday again!
