Victoria House at Bloomsbury Square, London houses menswear trade show Jacket Required and early this month I decided to take the big hike down from the North West to check it out for myself. It was a great chance to connect with some guys in the industry and actually put names to faces, especially the ones I've been chatting to online for years.
I bloody love menswear, as we all know and going to a trade show is basically the ultimate tease. It gives you a chance to see what your favorite brands have been working on for SS14 and also a platform to discover new ones. Notable favourites included - Burtonwode's ace silky pajamas and underwear, Levi's Vintage Clothing and Made & Crafted's offerings were as mad as a box of snakes but totally genius, which is another reason why I love Levi's so much, Ebbets' baseball caps and a new discovery Realm & Empire. Fascinating story behind their collection and history and lovely people too. The floral pattern on the shirt above was taken from a piece of wallpaper found in a building that was bombed in WW1. Plus they've produced their own ale, what's not to like?!
I won't start to dissect the collections one-by-one as we'd be here all day, I'll leave the images to do the talking. Jacket Required SS 14 - Part 2 coming next week, I've got plenty more good stuff to share.

Love those Burtonwode silky jammies, the boxes they come in are rather lovely too. Am liking that floral shirt too, very dashing. Oh and those brogues are pretty special too, heck it all looks good, bet you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteThose striped tops in the second pictures - I want one of each!
ReplyDeleteI like the brand name! Stuff there looks lovely. I love hearing the story behind the business too, I am always nosy and I'd like to think it's a good thing in some levels!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks top notch. Does the gentleman need anything else?
ReplyDeleteSold... by all the stripes alone. Looks so cool.

that floral print there is beautiful. old wallpapers always seem to have the best prints on them.
ReplyDeletei've always wanted to go to something like this. all the products just look awesome and getting to see them in person will be quite an impact.
I am enjoying all of the pics you took at the show! You have your own style, which is AMAZING, that is reflected in all of your posts!
ReplyDeleteThe uniformity of the stripes, the wooden hangers and the dark denim (Lee jeans!). Love it all!
Gosh, there are some lovely shirts there!
ReplyDeletelove the baseball caps! i've noticed so many guys here wearing those...i'm curious, do they support the teams do you think?
ReplyDeleteand fun converses, i'm loving my new ones! and i did know they are classic, but its definitely a fad here, a surge in their popularity..as in EVERYONE is wearing them in addition to the people who have always been wearing them, its a bit crazy.
