I've got really into cars lately, not so revving around in them but from a design and innovations point of view. I remember seeing this book while I was in America recently and I added it straight to my wishlist. The car pictured above, 1948 Buick Streamliner, designed by Norman E. Timms must have seemed like an incredible feat at the time, proper out of this world. It's the perfect example of how incredibly fast things were moving back then; innovation, aspiration and the drive to push the limits is something really distinctive of that age.
This particular model was only ever designed as a show car but was soon snapped up by a rich Californian fella, who from thereafter could be found cruising the beaches showing off his prized possession. What a sight that must have been.
Enjoy your weekend folks!
