The Fisherman Knit - Next
Anyone that knows me will have seen I've been wearing this cable knit Fisherman style jumper a heck of a lot over the past few months. In fact I think it was in November when Next asked me if I'd like to choose an item to try out from their A/W collection, having seen this jumper a few weeks previous I headed straight for it. I addressed my circulation problem a couple of posts back so you can imagine that heavy layers like this one do wonders for me (I even unsophisticatedly wore it to one of my Christmas nights out). Next isn't somewhere I regularly shop but I have to admit that the quality of this piece is far superior to most of its competitors. The general fit was spot on for me too; I did go a size down from usual so it wasn't too long but then the fit was perfect. The traditional higher neckline is defiantly one of the highlights of the piece, which looks pretty nifty simply worn over a plain oxford.
As I said I've been wearing this every week for the past few months and it's been hard to pick a fault with it. But I did try though so here's a quick summery:
Pros - Wool blend construction // Nice fit // Interesting weave // Minimal bobbling // Very versatile
Cons - Can only been worn a couple of months a year // Wool % could have been slightly higher

Cool jumper! I'm liking collared shirts with higher round necklines as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's the perfect sweater!
ReplyDeleteI want one of these just to wear around the house after a long day...
ReplyDeletei like the jumper a lot! its casual and it looks like its very coisy! i have a similar one in black for girls and i wore it like a 100 times this winter!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of this look on men (and women, too)! It's classic. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a good knit, this looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteHaha if the worst thing you can say about a jumper is that you can't wear it all year round I think you are on to a winner =) x

The sweater looks really good - but isn't it annoying how difficult it is to find pure wool items these days at an affordable price...
ReplyDeletelooks perfect to me. i also have a grey sweater that i wear constantly, although it's from like H&M. we are basically twinsies. (jk!)
ReplyDeleteGreat jumper and a smashin colour too. I find the odd gem in Next. I bouht some of the most comfortable boots from there, I did wear them a heck of a lot and in the end had to chuck them but my feet had never felt so comfortable.
ReplyDeletefisherman jumpers are the best!! I have one that I bought several years ago, similiar colour to yours and I live the entire winter in it
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that you look great in them!
ReplyDeleteThe knit is beautiful and looks so soft and wearable.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a great knit, I have a couple of jumpers in this style now. I love Next for knitwear, I got Baz a few of their wool jumpers. This is really dapper :)
