Getting Around

I've finally got wheels guys, after nearly a year of trying to find the right bike and encountering countless problems I can now cruise around town rather than getting a soggy walk on. The model is by Create and was quite a bargain as it was bought through the Cycle to Work scheme. Along with a ton of accessories (helmet, gloves, lights, lock...) it came to just over £300. I must admit I wasn't planning on going for something that stands out like a sore thumb but the brown frame swung it for me. I doubt the white tires will keep their colour much longer so I'm already planning on replacing them with black ones, I reckon it'll look sweet if I change the saddle to a black one too. Keeping white stuff clean is a bitch but this is just crazy. Any cycling fans out there?

I've found it hard keeping up with bloglist at the moment so apologies if I haven't replied to any of your comments or visited in a while. Things are so busy around this time of year but visiting blogs is still one of my favouite things, therefore there will always be at least 5 minutes in a day to cram a few in.

Take it easy this week guys, have you finished your Christmas shopping? Myself, in a word, nope.

  2. It looks solid Mat! Personally I don't think it stands out to bad. Just swap out the chain really and that would make a huge difference. None the less I like it how it is. brown is a great color for bikes I think. It gives them somewhat of a vintage look. Always been a fan of deep walled rims. They can ad so much to the over all look of the bike by switching up the colors of them.
    Nice purchase.
How does it ride and how are you liking fixed?

  3. Nice mat! Get rid of that rear brake and stick on a pair of drop bars and you're away!

Very nice, I love the way bike and car manufacturers have adopted brown as a colour option more recently.

  6. What a deal! Yeh for me I'd do black seat and tires - the white's a bit stark for me. Really great bike!

  8. That bike is awesome. I think the wheels are what I love most about it. As for Christmas shopping I've done most of mine :)

  9. Great choice! The white accents look amazing, though I agree, they won't stay so pristine for long. I've just invested 100 quid into my old bicycle - it looks shabby, but actually is really good, which is the best policy in Berlin, as it makes it less desirable for thieves.

    Gorgeous bike!
I recently got a new myself actually - a white pitango! A bitch to keep clean of course but so worth the minimal design.

I think I might do a post on it actually.

  16. Owww Mat she's gorgeous! (Definitely a she, right?) It's cool that you've got something that's not the stereotypical indie Chopper - not that I don't like a Chopper! The wheels do stand out but it's not outrageous, what a fab start to the festive season ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

Have bought my bro a stylised cycling poster for xmas which I think you'd both love! He's into the tour de France and all - we were so happy when Wiggo won SPotY!

I actually really like the whole get up as it already stands. You don't come across these bikes often where I live (countless dodgy spray painted bmx's in use though). Glad you managed to finally invest in one, a good'en at that. It's always better to wait it out and not rush to grab the first thing you've seen.

My camera for instance seems to be on the blink so I've been looking into a new one. They are just so darn expensive though so I'm just doing some research on them. Hopefully a bargain will come up in the sales!
