I went a bit loopy the other week and bought these YMC Floral numbers from Urban Outfitters in the sale. I knew I liked them, hence parting with the readies but I was pretty stumped with what to wear them with. I've got tones of weird rules when I comes to dressing, I don't like wearing similar colours together and seeing that I own about 10 blue shirts.....basically over-thinking it.
I've posted a couple of photos on these on Instagram/Twitter (both mat_buckets) and the hibiscus pattern has got a ridiculously good reception, you guys seem to love them. So the jury is out, I'll just roll with them. For their first wear I just went with some green shorts and a dark blue oxford shirt. Nothing groundbreaking but it worked, I think.
I wouldn't mind a bit of input on this one though, have you guys got any ideas what sort of things I could wear them with? Remember I don't want to look like a fruit loop.
I think they would look good with something brighter? like red or yellow?
ReplyDeletePastel shorts in a pink maybe, then a white top? these are very cool, ill have a think.
ReplyDeletethese are a fantastic pair of shoes

These shoes are adorable! If they were mine i'd probably wear high waisted jean shorts and a jean button up shirt :)
ReplyDeleteThey look like fun Summer shoes. I would try not to over think it (I know how hard that be!), just keep the outfit simple and let the shoes pop. I'm not really one for the frenzy of mismatched prints that seems to be in vogue at the moment - so the dark blue oxford and green shorts combo sounds delightful.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would say though is don't feel like you have keep them just because everyone else likes them. If you are on the fence it is better to pass them on and find something that you think is fly as f*** instead. Otherwise you won't wear them as much as you should and you'll regret it.
They are seriously jazzy, very beachy! General awesomeness. I was going to suggest a khaki green, beiges/stones would work too I reckon.. oh and burgundy!
ReplyDeletelove them!
ReplyDeleteIn Sweden patterns like this are superpopular eve on pants and shirts!!
(For those who dare)
I'd wear them with an outfit like the one you have on your profile-pic; beige pants and a jeanshirt!
have a fab weekend!
I think if you keep the top a white or cream coloured, you could pair these shoes with a deep purple pair of pants. Or bright bright green. Either way, nice score!
ReplyDeleteHmmm that makes me want to wear something floral for a change :)
ReplyDeletehell to the yes we are!
ReplyDeleteLove them!!!
ReplyDeleteObviously jeans are safe even if they are blue. Maybe worn out/ cut off (right above knee length-short shorts on guys are gross)) white painter pants with a nice long sleeve (rolled up) oxford (in just about any color).
I'm really liking them actually. I've recently picked up some fabric that's pretty similar except the colors are reversed and the blue is navy. i was going to probably make a pair of shoes with them as well but like you, not quite sure what i'll wear it with exactly. Should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteBig love for it, so pretty that I'd buy it. It'll look good with some d.grey/black chinos if you have any x
ReplyDeleteGlorious. I love that we all have bizarre rules we use to dress.
