You can usually guarantee wet and windy weather on a British Bank Holiday, well today hasn't let us down. I woke up at 8:30 a.m. to the sun cracking through my curtains, by the time I went down for breakfast it was raining. I haven't even thought about getting out the shorts yet this year (to be honest I don't really ever think it gets hot enough for shorts over hear, if you risk it by the evening it's freezing and you're left looking daft with goosepimpled legs), but I need something sun related to cheer me up.
Hopefully Hixsept's S/S '12 offerings will perk the long weekend up a bit. The collection is made up of simple wearable pieces in soft palette, it's nothing groundbreaking but works really well together for me. There's a couple of more interestin additions including a cracking weather appropriate single breasted beige mac with detachable hood, long sleeved yellow button-down, contrast waistband trousers and shorts and riding chambray riding cap.
The whole collection has a nice feel to it, something that I'm very much down with, including the George Harrison inspired model choice, no?
For more information on the brand go to the Hixsept site.
You track down the coolest collections! More Donkey t shirts need to grace the stores of Britain! I also usually find yellow a tad garish but the mustard yellow works so well worn with the beige trousers.
ReplyDeleteI made the mistake of leaving the house without an umbrella and cardie last year and it tipped it down! Felt like a right wolly I did.
a world in which shorts aren't necessary sounds pretty perfect! Is it just me or does the model totally look like Forrest Gump in the picture where he is wearing the neon orange shorts?!
ReplyDeletethis is super cool x i'm really intrigued by the editorial itself. and those printed tees! very curious to see if they have a small selection for women?

ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of this and just checked it out. The Mac is a classic.
ReplyDeleteVery cool collection! Thanks for sharing - the model is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYahhaaa, this non-stopping-rain... Great designs - amazing model! Definitely brightens my day.
ReplyDeleteI really like this lookbook, very cool snaps!
ReplyDeleteObviously it rained. That is how Britain works. *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteI actually don't really care for the model in this context. Yes, he's a handsome guy but he has such a strong 'look' that it is distracting me from the simple loveliness of the clothes.
The whole concept of those photos is really cool...
ReplyDeleteI may have some problems in my genetics.. why i always like more men cloth than woman's one! Hahahahah
ReplyDeleteI think the model choice was perfect for the look they were going off! Plus, he´s hot! That´s just me.
xx
Justin Passmore fills me with extreme beard envy. And yeah wish it was shorts weather for more than three or four hours a year, but then my legs are hardly made for shorts so I suppose it's a blessing in disguise!
ReplyDeleteI thought that WAS George Harrison! Until I read the text.
ReplyDeleteThat is one fabulously photographed lookbook: I just love the way the Harrison-lookalike is posing: facing north, south, east, west. Love the clothes, too.
Just did a post of men's shoes (Fred Perry) and thought to myself 'what would Mat think? Would it pass the Bucket Test?'
btw: does anyone know what exactly we were meant to be celebrating on the Bank HOliday Weekend? The phrase makes me laugh aloud. We celebrated by dressing warm, driving with the heater (and the defroster) on, to indoor places. And drank lots of PG Tips. I'm actually loving this weather: I can justify staying inside, under the covers, watching films.
Donkeys are awesome.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this! I've been in search of the creator of that floral shirt. I really like all their photo tee's now that I've seen them. The feel of the site, photos, models etc are perfect. I'm really digging those lime shorts and the chambray hat. The prices on the stuff isn't to shabby either.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, George Harrison it is! Love the photos, and it would have added a touch of surreal to include a sitar to it, Harrison style ;-)

ReplyDeleteThe beard, the Amish hat. I nearly died when I saw the look with the bleached jeans and docs, just perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat whaaaaaaat. I love this.
ReplyDeleteThis look is pure love! He reminds me so much of my favorite Beatle, George Harrison! More donkey shirts please!
ReplyDeletea beautiful collection, rugged, but soft at the same time. i'm a fan of those contrast waistband trousers.
