Coming at you with the Milk Duds, Whoppers, Ding-Dongs and the classic board game Fact or Crap! Christmas is on sale all year round though this dog one was weird, very cool Urban Outfitters receipt, reupholstered Victorian dentist's chair on sale in Anthropologie and originally from the UK, see I AM obsessed with packaging and hydrants, the sky at night at the front of the house, power plugs are like little faces over there, the fastest shopping trolly in Orlando, more American treats including a sausage dog pen, "I'm Chunky and Proud of it, loosing badly at mini golf cos I'm too heavy handed, I adored this Bealls neon sign.
Well that's part two under our every expanding belt (mine's gone up one notch since I ate my way out of the country). This part is mostly filled with packaging and daft stuff but that's the stuff I really do adore. American's do it so well, it's fun and lighthearted, basically a dream to a person like me. Fact or Crap, come on, genius stuff right there.
Anyways, as with part one I'll keep the chat to a minimum and you can just enjoy the snaps. Feel free to ask me any questions about stuff, it's pretty enjoyable reading your comments on these posts.
I'm cracking up at the fire hydrant pictures. You don't have them in the UK?
ReplyDeleteI love the little cauliflower poodle!
Looks like you guys had a fun time!
I was just going to say the Fact or Crap game must be the best one invented! I want it.

Welcome to America Mat!
ReplyDeleteHave to say everytime I return back to England I'm shocked at just how much sleeker and sophisticated the packaging gets! Think we need a transatlantic packaging design agency with some of the how should I put it,,, lo-brow US packaging (with spirit!) and the sophistication of British packaging = match made in packaging heaven!
Seriously though, everytime what impresses me most about England? Sainsbury's new packaging for milk. They update it like everytime I visit...
there´s has to be a snacks, market, junk food section in every photo diary!
ReplyDeleteThe cauliflower dog is sick.. what was that?? an art exhibiton a fancy grosery store? hahaha
xx
that dog is the most random mix i think! and it's so funny to see the food choices you chose to take pics of...haha, like me in europe :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about high waisted jeans; they feel so much better - and look it! Much more flattering I think. Being short I need that extra bit of artificial height that they give, oh yes!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even realise they had other colours than red for their fire hydrants! I've got some serious love for the blue and yellow one - awesome!
If I ever get a chance to go to America I'd take a lot of images of food too haha, I would probably react like Moss when he discovers he's made it to be a contestent on countdown! I'd be drooling in every isle. They sell a lot of american chocolate in selfridges but the prices are insane!
That pen is extreamly cool, along with the game. I want to shake the hand of the genius who designed it... brilliant.
interesting to see your travel pics. i like to see the unfamiliar details that people pick up on their travels.
ReplyDeleteOk, the Hefty cups and Batter Blasters freak me out but the cauliflower poodle is amazing!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all: Happy late birthday, Mat! I don't know how it happens, but every time I'm in the States I gain weight. It's not even junk food... the food just is so good (and the portions so generous :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo diary!
Brilliant photos Mat, I am a particular fan of the cauliflower dog! and the ding dongs, bit worried how menacing you look with a gold club though...haha! thank you for your lovely comment :) x
