Timex watch with interchangeable straps was a birthday present from Hollie's parents, bicycle display in Gap, me and Hollie by the wonderful lake at Celebration, and again the lake at night, Celebration's finest ice creams and Art Deco cinema, lost but we didn't care, get your guns this way, shopping at Millenia Mall where I bought a shirt and baseball cap in Urban Outfitters, test driving Hollie's swimming cap, water tower near the house, view from the front at night, American chocolate bars are 10 times better than ours in taste and names, old coke crates in Anthropologie, jerk chicken on sweet potato mash and salsa at Bahama Breeze, on IDrive at night makes for some immense views
I'm back! With many photos and stories to tell, so instead of waffling for now I'm hitting you guys with a couple of picture heavy posts. We really did have the best time, it reminded what an amazing place America is and how wonderful the people are. I'll explain more later but for now just enjoy part 1 of my photo diary.
I feel like I need to try that Superman ice cream.
ReplyDeleteLoving the pictures, especially of Oscar's truck, the superman ice cream and the jerk chicken dinner looked delicious! Urban outfitters there much different to ours? Planning on a trip to USA next year!
ReplyDeleteWell, i enjoyed part one so i´ll be ansiously waiting part two now.
ReplyDeleteOrlando is on my "places to visit" list. I mean everyone in one moment of their lives should go to Orlando and Disney and all of that right? hahah
The llama picture is so hiloarious and adorable at the same time!!!

Looks like so much fun Mat! What makes superman ice-cream so, er, super though? E numbers?! Sally x
ReplyDeleteSuperman ice cream!? What! That is amazing. I once found Smurf ice cream in brussels but it was just smurf blue & tasted like bubblegum flavouring. Looks like you had a proper amazing time & that watch is absolutely wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture to start your US photo diary! I haven't been to the States for aaaaages, but these pics bring it all right back.
ReplyDeleteCute look with the bathing cap, Mat :)
/very much looking forward to hearing your opinions on this country! The photo of you guys hugging is kind of amazing! Why don't all British tourists have that kind of style when travelling?!
ReplyDeleteha. the swimming cap love it. you saw so much, looks like you both had a fab time.
ReplyDeleteYou're back! And I absolutely LOVE your photography, Mat.
ReplyDeleteYour style is so iconically American, it's uncanny. I had a photography teacher in college (sorry, Uni), who I only realised later, as an adult, was a famous photographer, of an American, male movement. We worked in the darkroom, shot in black and white.. I am totally blanking on his name now, it's so frustrating. Your style is very much of this movement.
Looking thru these... the top shot in Orlando Diary 2, for example, with the flag star.. or the light blue car.. very crisp, clean, with a strong sense of humour.. not unlike your comments, come to think of it.
Not like my style at all! haha. Love your work. I'd love to see these as big kodachrome prints, in the Tate Modern. You've got to come to London sometime with Hollie: we could go round the Tate with Mr. Dot!
Glad you had corn muffins, too, and Mountain Dew.
