Terrace Fields are nothing I claim to know about but I saw one featured on The Cool Hunter and decided to see if I could find any more images on them. They make for pretty incredible viewing, just imagine seeing an are like this in person though. I'm imagining myself to be totally blown and and most likely pretty speechless, but those are the thing we remember in life. Machu Picchu is one of the places I most like to visit in the world.
It's been a super busy week for me, my hours at work stepped up to full time as well as juggling my other job and working on another exciting project (watch this space). So I'm sorry if I've become a bit slow at replying to comments and stuff, I will get there.
Thanks to everyone who has ever read my blog and enjoyed it, I'm really happy the way this blog has grown and I'm just glad I can share things I'm genuinely enthusiastic about. it's just a pleasure that you guys like it too. Two thumbs up for all of you.
All images from this here wicked website
the rice terraces is one of the sites we are proud of here in the philippines. i'm glad you are fascinated by them. they are products of true hard work and ingenuity. but i think you got your info wrong. boracay island has no terraces. :D they are found up north in the mountain province of benguet. but boracay is a nice beach to visit as well.

I just got back from Bali and there were loads of terraced paddy fields there though I'm not sure if any of them were as spectacular as these photos!

ReplyDeleteI always love seeing these fields they seem so impossible. But people live and work these fields. Mind blowing. It takes a while to learn how to juggle everything but you will get there. Looking forward to seeing what you are up to. Will be watching. Xxxx
ReplyDeletesuch beauty.
ReplyDeleteThese air pictures are incredible. There was this wonderful exhibition in the courtyard of the National History Museum in London a few years ago with photos like these (if I could only remember the name; it's always the same - beer adverts, artists... It must be internet information overload or alzheimer).
ReplyDeleteI thought that first one was a stain glass or something. Incredible.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely birthday wishes.

Oh my word my eyes are having a blast looking at these! The first one is so hard to try and take in, It almost doesn't look real - I have to look at different sections to sort of break it down! It's wonderful. It would be breath taking to see those views in person you're right, I'd be speechless too. I can imagine it being such a tranquil moment too.
ReplyDeleteMy friend mentioned about wanting to travel after graduation which sounds exciting. It's something I'd like to do too but I tend to be a real worrier and I'm not as spontainuous as I would really like to be!
I always tend to find myself checking back to your blog to check for updates so keep'em coming!
There are a lot of amazing place in the world !

Oh man. I definitely need to add this to my list of places to see. Macchu Picchu was already sort of there, but tea fields...yes. Definitely.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for posting a pic of the Philippines. i'm Filipina, and very happy to see someone knows our country does have some beauty left in it x
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the jobs mat, i'm a bit behind didnt even know you got some! Terrace gardens are absolutely magnificent, how can something so beautiful even like begin to exist ? (assuming they are natural occurance? :P )
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the picture from the Philippines. I think it shows the rice terraces of Banawe and not Boracay
ReplyDeleteThese are spectacular photographs. What's so amazing is that they are tilled using quite primitive methods. It's a great combination of nature and human achievement!
