Well that's another famous painting defaced, and boy did it take a while. For the people who have been following my blog for a while you may remember me doing similar to the Mona Lisa. But for all that haven't, this is something I've been working on and off with for a few months. As Salvador Dali is my favourite artist I decided to have a go at illustrating his infamous 1931 jobby, "The Persistence of Memory". I did my version using Illustrator.
So that's another one down, what do you think? I'm sure some people will think, meh and not original ect but at least I enjoyed doing it. Any feedback is more than welcome.
It's great!!! I really like the colours you've used, very subtle! well done x

I think this is very cool, and being familiar with Illustrator, I know what kind of work goes into something like this. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAmazing for a photoshop image . Xxxx
ReplyDeleteBloody brilliant!
ReplyDeletethis is one of my favorite artworks and i like what you did with it. it became more modern somehow.

I think it's awesome! Really well done. The fragmented washed out effect almost makes it take on a more dream like quality. xx
ReplyDeleteSo what if it's not original, you still put your flavor into it ;) And anyway, Dali is inspirational :)
ReplyDeleteCame out great :) like it!

Hey, I think this is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWow that's very impressive! I can see why it took so long to do, so much detailing. Did you vector every little bit? interesting to know how you achieved it! Great piece of work.
ReplyDeleteDali is a favourite or perhaps my favourite artist also, he's the stepping stone for the work I do today in my studio at uni. I don't think anything is original these days, I believe everything has been done but that doesn't mean it's boring - someone might be inspired by your work but then do their own interpritation making it unique therefore their own!
Just saw the post where you've illustrated a bag with bits and bobs from some time ago and I love it! You drew well, you should post more!!! I was actually going to set out a whats in my bag post like your illustration, it has so much character! Thanks for sparking an idea!
ReplyDeletenicely done! did you draw it entirily from scratch? or is it some special effect you could use? it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI think you've done a great job, and I'm sure Dali himself would like it when people have fun with his art and use it as an inspiration for their own art work - like you did.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I was referring to in my previous comment (http://buckets-and-spades.blogspot.com/2010/11/really-busy-this-week.html) - even if you didn't create it it's still a nice design and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I understand! God I bet that took ages, but well worth it. Your Mona Lisa is also great too. Like I said before post more of your art if you've got chance! It's intriguing!
Shrewsbury is in Shropshire and about 2 hours away from Wolverhampton. I've been thinking of having a day trip in Oxford though!
ReplyDeleteSounds cool about the window frame, it's a quirky design, I've always liked the look of designing using a graphics program but I've never got round to buying one of those Drawing Tablets!
Fun post and also shows your talent... do love the original though:)
ReplyDelete:) Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI might be one of the only people I know that hasn't ever really been enamoured with Dali. His life interests me far more than his work, which is true of many writers for me too.
I wanna use Illustrator now.
Everything on your blog is just nice to look at. That is all!
ReplyDeletewow! this is fantastic. muted shades i like.
