Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used maple syrup instead)
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
Approx. 1/4 cup Nutella
I saw this recipe a few weeks ago on Delightful Bitefuls and decided to try it, what a way to spend my Friday night hey! Anyways it turned out really well, they taste great (everyone at my work can back me up on this one as they whole tray I took in was gone in a bout 2 hours). The only thing is, they didn't go hard enough, they sort of fall apart if you hold them too long. Does anyone know how to stop this or what I did wrong?
I've been getting into cooking/baking a lot more over the past year but this was my first attempt at cookies. Big pat on the back for me.
Oh I love the sound and look of those cookies. I should copy that recipe and give it a go myself! Yum!
ReplyDeletethese look so yummy!
ReplyDeletei've been baking shortbread biscuits because they are the easiest and tastiest things ever!
i would suggest more flour maybe?
These look amazing! Have all the ingredients waiting for me in the cupboard...might give your recipe a try!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog,
Tori x
ohh, these look so yummy! i'll definitely pass this recipe to my mum, though she'll have to make it with gluten free flour so it may end up being slightly different. i quite like when cookies are slightly soft and fall apart to be honest! but perhaps you could add more flour or a touch more baking soda? xx
ReplyDeleteYum these look really delish!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to make more when I get home please.

ReplyDeletethese look so yummy!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, they sound amazing and i can swear i can smell them haha i love your blog i'm following you now xx
ReplyDeleteI am actually gutted I just used the last of my flour making snickerdoodles.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could cook or bake or do anything besides boil water and push buttons on the microwave haha. These look great. I love Nutella. Not a huge fan of PB cookies though, but the combination of PB & Nutella is probably awesome.

Well I know what I'm baking tomorrow! Just finished baking some ginger snaps.
ReplyDeleteThese look fab! I used to make peanut butter cookies but I've forgotten the recipe so I'll have to make these instead!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! And re a previous comment, Charlie the pooch belongs to the boyf's family & I have two cats...you must have seen them, I post cat photos/mention them fairly often, like a crazy cat lady lol :)
that sounds ridiculously good!
ReplyDeleteYum! It's probably the nutella making them fall apart, if you use chocolate instead or half chocolate half nutella it might set more.
ReplyDeleteOh & I replied to your comment but I'll write it here as well. My finger tattoo hasn't fallen out, more that when the excess ink scabbed & fell off it took more of the tattoo with it than it should've. So in some places the outline is barely even there. I went to another tattoo shop with a friend the other day & he said that the tattooist should re-do it out of embarrassment alone. I'll put a picture up at some point.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
yum yun!! i have to try this. oh it's perfect for those rainy days.

I love that second photo, it should be in a book! I'm rubbish at baking but i'm guessing cookies like these would make it worth trying someday
ReplyDeleteI've no idea how you'd stop that. Maybe cook them for five minutes less then leave them to cool and harden? jazzy ♥
ReplyDeleteNom! Will definitely give these a whirl Mat. And yes, bike pics coming soon, I'm just waiting for some nice weather :) Sally x
ReplyDeleteThat's looking delicious.
ReplyDeleteWowza huge pat on the back because I feel like I need these in my life. I wish I was a proper girl and knew why they break when you hold them for too long... my advice is don't hold them for too long. YAY.
ReplyDeleteSo going to try this one out soon.
As in too soft or too crumbly? Too crumbly is usually too much flour and too soft may be too much butter. Anyhow these look delish, i'm a nutella addict

Hiya Mat, long time no see (well, the internet equivalent... 'long time, no comment' sounds a bit naff).
ReplyDeletePeanut butter cookies are delicious as a rule. I shall definitely be trying the peanut butter variation soon. The cookie falling apart could be any combination of things. Vint Junky is spot on, but it the dough seemed firm before putting in the oven then it's possible that they needed a few more minutes in the oven. Baking is all trial and error anyway, so sometimes it'll take a few batches to figure out where you might be going wrong.
