I'm not a neat freak, honest gov. But I do like everything to be in its place, it's a weird mix really because I'm not really like this at home, it seems more to be when I venture out. Lining napkins up, straightening flyers up, even putting chairs at a table straight. What the heck is up with me? If you saw my room you would probably think I'm a right fibber but this is the way it is.
When it comes to my work, uni or personal I have became a major perfectionist. For anyone that uses any of the design programmes, my favourite tool by far is the tracking button! This is fine, I consider it a healthy obsession, I spend hours and hours moving around anchor points and text to get everything just right. Then the next day I discover it can still be improved more. Please say there's more of us out there?
I found these images above, by Swedish design company Kontor Kontur. They sum up how I feel perfectly. This comes in the light of me ordering my books by size, I just wish I could have done it by colour too!
Top of my book pile
I'm just crazy about these color-based sets! I have my mind set on giving one a try, photographic-wise, but don't seem to find the perfect items . . yet!

ooh lovely images,& I have to say i'm the same, my room looks like its been burgled, by I find myself even arranging things on shelves in shops so they are neat! hahah glad i'm not alone x
ReplyDeleteI'm geeking out at these pictures, neat and orderly is everything I love...and everything I fail to be!
ReplyDeleteyou are not alone. most of the time, i'm an organized chaos but there will be moments when i start putting order to things. they're like episodes that kick in anytime. sometimes, i find it weird myself.

I organise my wardrobe by colours, it is so satisfying! I think it's great to be neat, that way I feel my life is more organised and in control. great post, it makes me smile

Organizing is very therapeutic to me, at least. I don't understand how people can feel zen surrounded by crap strewn all over the place lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I thought at first they were yours. Yes I like everything to be neat too. Xxxx
ReplyDeletehaha these are brilliant makes me want to go neaten up all my bits and pieces!

I tend to go to extremes with neatness. But I still like to be organised, if that makes sense? Even when things seem messy, I still know exactly where everything is. Those colour coordinated layouts are eye candy for me. Gotta love the Swedish!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely like that too, my desk has to be in perfect shape before i can get any work done!
ReplyDeleteThis pleases me a lot. & Eric Gill totally made a font named Bunyan (which is my 2nd name) & he did the sign for a shop where I live, so I can almost forget the child/sister rape for his lovely typography!
ReplyDeleteOrganizing things by colour is one of the most soothing things to do. I just got a load of thread to do this with & spent 2 very quiet hours trying to get the spectrum just right. Good luck with the books!

Gosh, I'm a right nerd for stationary! x
ReplyDeleteIt takes a whole day for me to organize my room but less than 5 minutes to clutter it when I start painting, and then it goes on like that for days...it's such a routine, I must be doing. Cyclical.
