Type Inspiration
I'm in need of major inspiration right now as for the past week and for the next 2/3 weeks I'm working on my portfolio. So instead of lugging many books home from the library I just went and took about 200 images, that work's right?
So here's a few things, I'm looking at colour, typography, graphics, layouts and themes. I have so much to do. Bye bye Christmas.
Is everyone else having a nice festive time though? I did take some time out and wrapped all my presents, I was creative with the wrapping paper too, will post about it soon.

I'm a typography fanatic, so I love this! Hope you find some time to enjoy your holiday!
ReplyDeleteA good layout soothes the savage soul. BTW, I'm off on my jollies to Egypt Mat, thanks for asking!
ReplyDeleteAaaaw wrapping presents is definitely a good release. Being creative and simultaneously nice for someone is a lovely combination! :) Hope you manage the work/life balance over the festive period, might feel sickening but think it'll be worth it. jazzy ♥... if you haven't already, get your skates on with my Vintage Tapestry Bag giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteMy graphic designer friends would love this. I just got one of them a typeface book for Christmas. Hope you're having a good festive season!
ReplyDeleteSuch talented design! I don't do inspiration boards or anything like that, I really should. I think tumblr kinda counts though lol.
ReplyDeleteHey Mat, that's my original job: graphic designer. These examples are great, they remind me of the real old school hard core graphic designers. I started at a place called Push Pin Studios in NY: google it if you'd like.
ReplyDeleteLoved your comment about it turning into a hard white town. I want to see that post on potato stamps!
Actually, if you message me your post address I'll send you one of my hand made Christmas cards!
Oooh yum, yum, yum. I spent an hour the other day looking through typography books in Waterstones. Too many to choose from, but I want to buy at least two or three!
ReplyDeleteTypography is so cool! V. jealous of your awesome dissertation.
ReplyDeleteHey Matt! Hope your well! Loving the post! Typography ay!x
ReplyDeleteYou should look up the book 'The Explanaton Mark' by Helen Limon and Danny Nanos. Small time publisher ZEDsaid but really good and similar to what you have pictured up here.
