Cronotime Clock by Pio Manzu for Alessi (Originally designed 1966)
Electric Station Clock by Newgate
Optic Alarm Clock by Joe Colombus for Alessi (Originally designed 1970)
I'm after a new clock for Christmas, just a few ideas here. On the practicality front I should really get a desk clock, if I sorted my new room out I could have a walk clock, so I guess it doesn't help to look at both options.
All these beauties are available at Utility, which is "THE best design shop around", quote by me.
Third is the best

i just want a sturdy clock that doesn't get broke when i throw it when it alarms.haha
ReplyDeleteMat, the world city clock is great. MoMA in NY makes one with similar concept, which I love.

Omg I love the first one, it's like a cute orange worm that sounds crazy but that's what it look's like. I hate watchs and clocks ... But I think it's because people ask me the time non stop, but if I don't know the time it really annoys me !! I'm a total freak when it comes to time, I like knowing it I just don't like sharing it :p I am after a big clock for the living room, as I keep doing things later than I normal would as we have this mini clock. It drives me mental, I need fat numbers ...I'm a five year old when it comes to clocks .... Maybe that's why I like the orange worm :)
ReplyDeleteThose are all really cool! I saw the third one in a magazine and it mentioned that it was cordless, so that's my vote haha.
ReplyDeletethe cronotime one is so weird! i'm a watch girl myself, analogue ofc. but i really want like a big old wall clock. like big ben big. x
ReplyDeleteIn reply to your comment yes it is true that there is no menswear unfortunately! But it is still worth checking it out anyways if you can get to London!
ReplyDeletep.s the third clock would be sooo soo cool if it was gigantic and took up half the wall. i wish to find something like that when i own a house. that will be a very long time.
Nice. I like the '66 Alessi I think, though I'm sort of also drawn to the 70s one in the last photo!
ReplyDeletelove the first one!
ReplyDeletei just bumped into your blog! love it!

i like the top clock - very retro
ReplyDeleteI like them all but my vote for Best Clock is the Electric Station Clock by Newgate. Probably because it's the most old fashioned design, and I"m very old.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comments Mat! Hope you're staying warm up there.
My fave clock is the EYE CLOCK by george nelson.
ReplyDeleteThese are marvelous, I love a good homeware post. Though it does make me crave the day (soon hopefully) where me and the boyf can decorate our (future) place properly! jazzy ♥
