In Need Of A Sit Down

United We Stand by Rob Southcott
Spool Chair by Keisuke Fujiwara

Buitenbeentje by Anna Ter Haar
Teotitlan 1 by Tanya Aguiniga

I have probably mentioned a few times lately that I'm really into furniture design at the moment. So I thought I would share a few of my favourites with you all. They may not all by the most practical but it's not always really about that, I do like practical ones too, honest.

I've also had quite a lot of ideas spinning around in my head, usually just before I get to sleep. I've been sketching some of them down, most the time they are forgotten by the morning. I'm not really ready to share them as yet, but maybe soon.

Happy Weekend everyone!

  3. Rob Southcott illustrated the concept of 'United we stand' very well, yet I do love the Buitenbeentje by Anna Ter Haar, Syed's right, it simply makes you happy.

Regardless, I also hope we'll see yours soon.

  9. I love the drippy paint leg chair. That would be completely achievable in a normal house as well. You wouldn't need a fancy house to make it look good! Very practical :)

  10. wow cool chair's ....I was at a gallery not long again and this guy sat on the 'art' he did'nt realise the work was a chair. Until this little girl said 'your not ment to cross the wire, or my daddy said they will throw you out' I laughed sooooo loud that I had to quickly leave before getting 'throw out' myself. I want the first lot, very stag like, uber cool.

  23. Personally, I'm a fan of old Victorian-type furniture (damn my parents and their decorative influence) - but I love looking at pieces like these, it reminds me of being in an art gallery. That top one is insane! I'd want that in my house, to use it as some sort of post-modern christmas tree. ;)

Ah, you mentioned Leigh Bowery in your last comment. That was a great example as I find him so intreguing, I actually have a book full of his work, I should scan it sometime! Also all of these pieces are amazing I particularly adore the spool chair, the gradients are so awesome. Thanks again for throwing in your two cents, it's great to have some support and hearing everyones points of view, and don't worry nothing could stop me being a dork haha.
