The Brogues
Well we're now on part 3 of my new found treasures. This is where I have been showing things I have bought over the past few months and it's about time I blogged about these babies. I picked up these dark brown(with a slight red tint) Loake brogues up when I was staying in Brighton, in January. I couldn't have been more chuffed when I spotted these in a vintage shop, I was even more surprised when the price tag said £38. That's quite a bargain for shoes that could last years right?
I tried them on and strutted up and down for about 10 minutes before handing over the readies, I had to make sure they were perfect. And they were.
I'm wearing them here with Topman Design trousers and bright orange Uniqlo socks. I haven't worn these trousers much since I bought them about 3 years ago but now they have the perfect partner. The fit of the trousers makes me feel very mod, I might wear them to a gig I'm going to on Sunday night.
How's everyone's weekend going?
I've never seen anyone pair socks that colour, I like it !
ReplyDeleteGreat shoes! A classic! =)
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty darn fantastic. The color is perfect. Nice styling =)
ReplyDeletebrogues are the best shoes EVER! so versatile and always in style. truly timeless footwear.
ReplyDeleteThey're soo cool! I WANT.
ReplyDeleteit really did cheer me up. Ohh I love the colour of brogues, I love when they are more worn in. New shoes are okay, but they look better when they have been loved. Enjoy the rest of your weekend xx
ReplyDeletethose brogues are seriously fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThey're great, Mat, and I love the orange socks & esp. with those trousers! You have to wear them to the gig tonight.
ReplyDeleteLove the photography, too, and that particular turquoise as background with the brogues. When I do MY brogue post (when I upload the shots from Friday) I'll let you know because guess what colour I chose for my 2nd pair? Orange ; )
I'm now embracing all things orange. I did this right after college: realised it was a colour I was avoiding, and in order to be a well rounded individual I had to give it a chance. These things go in cycles, I guess.
Amazing shoes, and they look so good with those trousers and socks, I love the colour combination.
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed Matthew! Hope you're having fun with Suede.

I love it with the socks, it's like 'I'm a serious man OH WAIT SECRETLY I'M NOT'. Massive fan of that.
ReplyDeleteSweet brogues. Such a rich, earthy colour. They make anyone look expensive. Nice. ;)

oh thanks! yeah buddy is great. anyway! I love those shoes!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are a great find - the most perfect worn in leather. I like old leather shoes. They always feel a lot softer.
ReplyDeleteMost of all though, I'm in love with those trousers. The turquoise running through them is gorgeous! They look perfect with the orange socks.
