We saw Coco Before Chanel last night(it wasn't on where I live so we had to go to Manchester). The film was nice film, but you can see she was a very troubled lady. Audrey Tautou was perfect for the role, her delivery was spot on. Also it all being in a super sexy French accent didn't hurt. Though I did feel like I was left wanting more(or somtehing else). Or maybe that was the point, it being before she hit the big time in Paris.

I enjoyed the film, but I felt it was really only incidental that it was about Chanel, and I probably wouldn't have gone if I'd known how little it had to do with fashion.
ReplyDeleteOf course it was Coco before Chanel, but I had sort of thought there would be more fashion stuff - what there was was quite limited and it didn't really explain much, it was more of a period romantic drama, albeit stylishly done.
I also felt the ending was rushed and quite weak, and it was weird that the First World War was totally omitted.
i think you summed that up perfectly, i couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeletei want to see the movie but untill september or something it's not going to arrive to my country :S, i hate when that happens...
