Winter blues & update

So while I have the spare time I thought I'd give a little update into what's going on in my world:

This is me, this photo is a few months old but I look just the same really. That was just before I shaved my hair at the sides when I wanted a proper 50s look, but it's too hard to keep it up as I would have to go to the hairdressers every single week. I'm in the second year of my Fashion Promotion degree and I'm currently looking for a work placement for my 3rd year. If anyone knows of any companies interested in taking on students for a placement let me know.

This is my lovely girlfriend Hollie, we met at art college in a Photography class and we have been together nearly 3 years now, I couldn't be happier. Shes a Photographer/ Fashion expect/Style Advisor/Student, so she does just about everything.  She is currently obsessed with wanting to play Guitar Hero, studs, changing her hair style and The Rocky Horror Show.

This is Jamesy, Hollie's best friend from years gone by, he's also one of my best friends now too. Jamesy works in IT and loves everything gentlemanly like wine, mustaches, pocket squares, gadgets and anyting on Dave. Hes also a total music boff with what seems like thousands of albums, he did try to teach me how to play the bass at one point but that didn't really last too long!

This is Sammi and Harry (on the left), I haven't really known them for too long, only since earlier this year but they are both really fun and we're into the same kind of things. Which is really hard to find in Blackpool as it's a pretty narrow minded place to live with not much place for individualism. They are both studying at the local art college, Sammi doing Fine Art and Harry is doing Fashion & Textiles. We are hoping to go on a mini trip to London in the near future, last time we went it was great so I'm hoping this time will be even better.

Not much interesting happens in my town but we do get quite a few events at the Local theatre/events hall, The Winter Gardens. Recently there was a Halloween Ball with quite a few acts on including burlesque, magicians, singers, cabaret and other crazy random acts. There was a room for the acts and smaller rooms with Djs, apple bobbing, old horror movies being played and even a "improvisation room" where we were encouraged to make faces out of vegetables!

This was my attempt.
Hollie took it a step further ( her wig was falling off by this point, from all the crazy dancing).

On my Christmas list this year:

Black Bowler hat -  I can't find one anywhere that fits, I have quite a small head, I tired one in Topman but it's just too big, I need an XSmall maybe. Does anyone know where I can get a small fitting bowler hat, or it there any children's shops that sell them? I surely can't be the only one with this problem!

Paul Smith stripy socks - I've just bought some really cool antique looking tan brogues from Topman, with my staff discount they came to £45, so some good socks will make them 10 times better.

Metal tie clip/pin - I've seen a few on ebay but nothing is really standing out right now, again anyone know of any places?

Comme des Garcons spotty polo shirt -  Now I know these are all sold out but I want one so much, I've seen a few on ebay but again does anyone know of anyone selling one or just have it laying around and is willing to sell it? I'll give it a good home.

Book on Surrealist painter Magritte - Not decided which one yet though.
Black leather biker gloves - Preferable with zips and studs
Black 8 Hole Dr Martens
Black acid wash skinny jeans - I haven't seen many about for a bit but I'm on the hunt
Wet look/coated black skinny jeans - Same as about

I realise this is the longest post I've probably ever done but I have a lot of time on my hands today, but I must get one with some cleaning, the house won't tidy itself!

Photos taken by Hollie, Harry and Jamesy and me.

  1. Have you gotten pricing from local hatters? I have melon sized crown so I have to get mine custom made. You might be surprised at how affordable a custom hat can be.
