I recently did a bit of work for the Topman website, I picked out my Top 5 items on the site for Christmas.
Today was the last day out uni, so I get a healthy 4 weeks of for Christmas. The final day was full of crisps, flapjacks and M&S chocolates. We also got our grades back from our last project which was all about trend/colour forecasting, we made up promotional booklets which would be presented to a company. I got 68% so I was super pleased with that, all my hard work paid off, I'll be sure to post some of the work I did for this soon.
Hey Mat,
ReplyDeletelooking forward to your project. Mat could you do me a favour? Could you let me know of the requrements for entry into your uni for fashion design. for example is pattern making, basic stitching required? Im looking for fashion design mainly menswear. Is there a separate course for menswear or is it a part of a course in fashion design? Huge thanks Mat.
Jonas
hey jonas,
ReplyDeleteyes a level of construction/sewing/pattern cutting and a grasp of designing/sketching will be required. it would be hard to go onto a design course without any type of design/textiles background.
i dont actually do fashion design at uni, i concentrate of the promotional side, but at my uni there isnt a menswear design course. you will find these types of courses at larger colleges like london school of design, london fashion, and some others maybe like epsom, manchesters ect ect.
it would be easy to find info on courses through google id say.
are you thinking of moving to england?
Thanks Mat,
ReplyDeleteMoving to England is currently no option for me right now. Maybe in a few years. Reason = Insufficient Funds lol. What would you recommend courses i mean. What would you recommend me to do before doing fashion design at uni?
before studying fashion design i studied textiles and fine art, its good if you have an understanding of materials and what influences design before rushing into a fashion course.
